The founder of Dr. Greenhouse discusses important considerations when making the switch from growing traditional greenhouse crops to cannabis or hemp. As cannabis legalization continues to sweep the nation—and the world—those already immersed in traditional greenhouse agriculture may consider converting their facilities to support this new crop. However, growing cannabis or hemp might require more adjustments to existing operations than initially anticipated, and comes with its own unique crop needs, growing conditions and regulations. Dr. Nadia Sabeh, president and founder of Dr. Greenhouse Inc., an agricultural and mechanical engineering firm that specializes in the design of HVAC systems for indoor plant environments, has dedicated her career to helping farmers control their environments to grow crops indoors, in greenhouses and in locations that would otherwise make it impossible or impractical to do so. Here, she shares advice on how to successfully make the switch from growing traditional crops to cannabis or hemp in a greenhouse environment. Armenia Wine cognac has recently won a prestigious international silver medal in the International Wine & Spirit

Armenia Wine cognac has recently won a prestigious international silver medal in the International Wine & Spirit Competition. Along with the world-famous cognacs, the company’s 3-year-old and 5-year-old cognac got 90 points, and the 7-year-old one got 93. International Wine & Spirit Competition has a 50-year history. The competition jury is composed of more than 400 professionals from over 30 countries. According to the competition’s rating scale, a silver-medal cognac is characterized by an exceptional balance and complexity of aromas that significantly distinguish it from its competitors. Olivier Chapt, a French cognac maker at Armenia Wine Company, points out that such an assessment is extremely gratifying but at the same time compelling. “Such medals are of great importance to all of us, as it is very important to know that your work is valued. Of course, winning these medals was not that easy job to do. Long and difficult job stands in the background,” says the cognac maker. He assures that the company will continue to reach new heights and make Armenia’s name spread worldwide. According to Olivier Chapt, the high quality of Armenia Wine cognac is condi...

Do you ever take time to think about your poor, under-loved trapezius? If you don’t –

Do you ever take time to think about your poor, under-loved trapezius? If you don’t – or even if you do – these trap excercises from some of London’s finest minds could be perfect for you So you’ve got your arm day, your leg day, maybe even a day for lats or quads, biceps and triceps, but what about your traps? It’s probably not worth giving up your Sunday just so you can get on the gym floor to spend 45 minutes working on your trapezius, but that doesn’t mean it’s not important to include in your weekly regimen. “Nothing quite shows off how big you are like your traps,” says Will McAuley, strength and conditioning coach at PerformancePro. It’s true: seeing those muscles by your neck bulging up from under your T-shirt… we truly do love to see it. “The traps have a relatively even distribution of type-one (slow-twitch) and type-two (fast-twitch) muscle fibres, so it’s best to use light weights and heavy weights to ensure maximum growth.” Once again, we tracked down some of the finest minds in British fitness to give your traps a good going over. Not in need of a rethink of your trap workout? Totally fine! We’ve also got recommendations for your glutes, chest, back and shoulders. ...

Daikin Pathfinder® with Free Cooling Chiller Reduces Capital Costs, and Drives Long-Term Energy and Water Savings | News

MINNEAPOLIS, March 24, 2020 /PRNewswire/ – Daikin today introduced an integrated water-side economizer (WSE) for its Pathfinder® Air-cooled Screw Chiller. The WSE, providing what is commonly known as “free cooling,” uses outdoor air to naturally cool water and other process fluids, reducing compressor work and increasing chiller efficiency. The Pathfinder with Free Cooling also operates without needing water from a cooling tower. This drastically cuts water use, as well as costs for water, sewer and chemical treatment. “Water availability is starting to become a widespread problem,” said Hugh Hudson, data center market manager, Daikin Applied. “For many organizations, water conservation is part of their sustainability efforts. And some facilities are in areas with water restrictions. By omitting a cooling tower or evaporative cooling system, free-cooling chillers put less stress on municipal infrastructure and the environment.” Most free-cooling systems require two separate pieces of equipment, a chiller and dry cooler, along with a layer of controls for coordination. By adding an on-board economizer to the Pathfinder, both tuned at the ...

A game of Monopoly — a family friendly game if there ever was one /sarcasm —

A game of Monopoly — a family friendly game if there ever was one /sarcasm — over the weekend gives rise to today’s question. There’s one minor adjustment, however: just like a corrupt fat cat CEO, we’re adding a zero to our paycheck. With an extra $2,000, let’s call it a bank error in your favor — earmarked for purchasing a project car, what would it be? It took all of 21 seconds to select mine from the Craigslist quagmire. It’s a Lincoln Mark VII, of course. Having sold my own example of Ford Fox-body finery as part of an ill-advised fleet reduction program back in 2009, I’ve been jonesing for another one ever since. The beige champagne Mark to which I held the keys for six excellent years was surely one of the world’s rattiest examples, but it cleaned up nicely and had an exhaust on it that uncorked the 5.0-liter V8 with impunity. If it wasn’t a hot rod Lincoln, it was at least a warm one. This example, offered at $1,800 by a seller north of Yonkers, is a terrible color but is one of my favorite Mark VII model years. Both 1988 and 1989 combined a just-right set of gauges (I don’t like the font on the ’87s) with a non-lunchbox steering wheel and the tall headrests. The s...
